History and Background

In the mid-2000s, a few books mentioned National Champagne Day. The books ‘Practically Useless Information on Food’ and ‘Drink Wine Enthusiast’ recognized this day on August 4th in 2007. However, since this day does not have a registered date, people celebrate it on New Year’s Eve as it seems to be the perfect opportunity to drink champagne. 

This day has gained popularity since people took up to Twitter the hashtag #NationalChampagneDay. Ever since then, the complete advantage of this day is taken to celebrate this day by people and restaurants. There are several parties, discounts on champagne, champagne tasting events, etc. held all over the country on this day.
