December 31st: National Champagne Day in the United States

Today is the day to pop open your favourite bottle of champagne to celebrate National Champagne Day

National Champagne Day is celebrated in the United States informally on 31st December every year. It occurs on the same day as New Year’s Eve and can be celebrated perfectly. It is the perfect time to pop up a bottle of champagne and start the new year with a bang.

History and Background

In the mid-2000s, a few books mentioned National Champagne Day. The books ‘Practically Useless Information on Food’ and ‘Drink Wine Enthusiast’ recognized this day on August 4th in 2007. However, since this day does not have a registered date, people celebrate it on New Year’s Eve as it seems to be the perfect opportunity to drink champagne
