Govt to explore possibility of supporting film projects of two men and women directors each from SC/ST communities every year. A unique effort aimed at supporting aspiring filmmakers from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities is seeing fruition in Kerala. The Kerala Government’s pathbreaking initiative got rolling with the first film under this project getting on to the floors. The film is produced by the Kerala State Development Corporation (KSFDC), which significantly is the first public sector corporation for film development in India. KSFDC was established in 1975. The Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes K Radhakrishnan performed the switch-on for the film, titled Ariku.
